Blue Moon Cushion by HAUS ÜGER photographed on a neutral background, featuring sculptural tufted wool in mint green with soft pink organic shapes and a contrasting dark green section.

Blue Moon is a sculptural cushion inspired by the quiet glow of moonlight. Organic forms unfold across the surface in layered green tones and soft contrasts, creating a composition that feels both calm and expressive.

Rather than blending into the sofa, Blue Moon is designed to stand out. Its structured exterior holds the shape firmly, while the soft interior provides comfort and depth. The cushion behaves less like a traditional pillow and more like a tactile object — a woolen sculpture that adds presence to the room.

Feel & Form

The front of the cushion is made from densely tufted 100% wool, carefully shaped in varying pile heights to create depth, texture and a soft sculptural surface. The wool gives the cushion both warmth and structure, allowing the form to remain defined while still feeling soft to the touch. The back is crafted from natural-toned cotton, creating a calm and balanced contrast to the textured front. A discreet zipper is integrated into the back, allowing the inner filling to be removed when needed. Inside, the cushion is filled with soft fiber that provides comfort and volume, while the tufted wool exterior keeps the cushion visually structured and stable. Materials chosen not only for comfort, but for the way they shape the presence of the object.

CRAFT & PRODUCTION

Each HAUS ÜGER cushion begins with a deliberate process where material, density, and surface are carefully controlled to achieve a very specific character. The front surface is densely tufted with wool, creating a tactile structure where the pile is cut and shaped in varying heights.

CHARACTER & UNIQUENESS

Subtle irregularities in texture, pile height, and tone are an inherent part of the process and should be understood as a mark of authenticity. Wool is a living material with natural variation, and the tufting technique allows these nuances to appear across the surface.

PLACEMENT IN THE INTERIOR

HAUS ÜGER cushions are designed to function as visual elements within a room rather than simply as accessories. Their volume, color composition, and surface depth allow them to act as soft sculptural accents within the interior.

This process gives the cushion its distinctive depth and sculptural appearance. Unlike thin decorative pillows, the construction is intentionally substantial.

The cotton backing provides stability, while the interior filling ensures softness without allowing the form to collapse. The result is a cushion that holds its presence — soft to the touch, yet visually defined.

The production requires time and precision, and the character of the wool surface emerges through the process itself, giving each piece a natural sense of individuality.

No two cushions will ever be completely identical. Each carries its own rhythm in the wool, its own small differences in density and movement.

These variations are not imperfections but the qualities that separate a crafted object from industrial uniformity.

Over time, the cushion settles naturally within the space, developing a character that feels personal and lived with rather than mass-produced.

Placed on a sofa, lounge chair, or daybed, they introduce contrast, texture, and a sense of intention to the space.

Often a single cushion with a strong form creates more presence than several smaller ones competing for attention. The object becomes part of the composition of the room — adding warmth, tactility, and personality.

When used thoughtfully, it signals a space that has been curated rather than simply furnished.

Crafted by Hand

Each cushion is the result of a detailed creative process — from the original design to the final tufting and finishing. The wool is tightly tufted and carefully trimmed to different heights, shaping the surface and defining the form. Producing each piece requires time, precision and skilled hands. The result is a cushion with a clear identity, where texture, color and form are deliberately composed. “A piece created with time and intention — ready to become part of your home”

Room Presence

Our cushions are created to be noticed. Each piece carries a sculptural character that brings texture, depth and a quiet sense of movement into the room. The dense wool surface interacts with light and surrounding materials, revealing subtle variations in pile and structure that change depending on where the cushion is placed and how it is experienced throughout the day. In many homes, cushions become background elements that simply fill a sofa. These are different. The layered wool and organic forms introduce contrast against smooth upholstery and architectural surfaces, allowing the cushion to stand forward as a tactile object within the interior. It adds a sense of presence — something that draws the eye and makes the space feel more deliberate and personal.

In the living room, the cushion becomes part of the space where life unfolds. Placed on a sofa or lounge chair, it introduces a sculptural presence that softens the strict lines of furniture and architecture. The wool surface invites touch and adds depth to the seating area, making the room feel warmer and more layered.

It is often the small elements that define the character of a living room. A cushion like this can subtly change the balance of the space — turning a simple sofa into something more expressive and personal. It creates a focal point that draws the eye without demanding attention.

“A living room is not defined by the furniture alone, but by the objects that give it character.”

In the bedroom, the cushion introduces texture and quiet personality to a space built around calm and comfort. Resting against the headboard or layered with simple bedding, the wool surface adds depth and tactile richness to the otherwise smooth planes of linen and cotton.

Bedrooms are intimate spaces where the smallest details matter. A sculptural cushion adds a gentle presence that makes the room feel less styled and more personal. It becomes an object that contributes to the sense of retreat — something soft, visual and quietly grounding.

“The bedroom should feel like a place you return to, not just a room you sleep in.”

In an entry or guest room, the cushion quietly communicates that the home has been thoughtfully composed. Placed on a chair, bench or daybed, it introduces texture and presence to spaces that are often overlooked.

For guests entering the home, it is often these subtle details that shape the first impression. The cushion adds warmth and individuality without dominating the space. It signals a home where objects are chosen with care and where even the smallest elements contribute to the atmosphere of the interior.

“The first impression of a home is often created by its smallest details.”

HAUS ÜGER is a Danish design brand driven by a fascination with form, texture, and the beauty of imperfection. Founded on the belief that interiors should provoke emotion, our work blurs the line between art and function. Every creation carries a sculptural presence — bold, textural, and uncompromising — expressing a refined yet untamed spirit that challenges conventional Scandinavian minimalism.

We value craftsmanship as much as concept. Behind every piece lies a commitment to time, technique, and authenticity. By collaborating with skilled artisans and embracing slow production, we ensure that each object holds meaning and longevity. Sustainability is not an aesthetic for us; it is a way of working — an insistence that true luxury must endure.
